The SHL DKS 250/450 ROB dual free belt and contact wheel grinding machine is equipped with two independently controlled free belt and contact wheel grinding assemblies with dual drive systems. They are engineered for deployment in robot grinding systems and their design encompasses all of the latest advances in grinding technology.
Since the functionality of the two free belt/contact wheel grinding assemblies can be controlled separately, this means the machine can work with different abrasive belt grades and/or contact wheel hardnesses. The DKS 250/450 ROB is mounted onto a fixed base. A fieldbus system is used to link it to the robot and integrate it into a functional whole. This ensures the rapid assembly and start-up of the system within an SHL robot cell. Grinding can take place both at the free belt as well as the contact wheel.
The SHL-DKS 250/450 ROB has been engineered to meet the particular demands presented by the grinding and deburring of machined workpieces and moulded parts – even where these have extremely difficult contours – and materials made from metal, non-ferrous metals, wood and plastics, with varying belt speeds.
